This week, the company announced an important milestone in its long history as it sold its one-millionth IP deskphone.
Commenting on the important moment, Jim Machi, chief product and marketing officer at Sangoma said, “Desk phones are still a very important part of our portfolio, a part that our customers depend upon very heavily, including and especially as a part of our cloud solution.”
With IP desk phones, it’s possible to have a physical phone that is reliable and easy to use on a user’s desk for standard business phone calls. But, it also includes cloud-connected features for greater functionality and accessibility. Things like caller dashboards, shortcuts, and other efficiency-based features.
“Many of our customers use both desk phones as well as our mobile and desktop clients to communicate. And since we manufacture our desk phones and develop our own cloud communications software, we are able to provide deep integration between our phones and our cloud communications services, in a way that other phone manufacturers or UCaaS companies simply cannot do,” explained Machi. “This kind of integration has contributed to the successful growth of this important product line at Sangoma, differentiating us from our competitors and leading to this one-million-unit milestone.”
Sangoma desktop phones come pre-loaded with capabilities and can work with cloud services like Sangoma’s UCaaS system. So visual voicemail and call queues can all be seen right from the phone screen or soft client.
The one millionth IP desk phone was sold and shipped to distributor Jenne, a long-time Sangoma partner that believes Sangoma’s efforts to keep its UcaaS development fully in-house is a huge benefit.
“The excellence of their ‘all built in-house’ UcaaS solution includes tightly integrated desk phones designed for their UC environment. Desk phones continue to be an important part of the overall UC solution set, especially for brick-and-mortar businesses,” said Dean Jenne, president of sales, Jenne. “The achievement of delivering one million phones to the marketplace is impressive and will continue to be a big part of Jenne’s overall success, whether that is in delivering cloud-based or on-premises solutions.”
